The State Duma of the Russian Federation will hold a roundtable on attracting public-private partnership (PPP) tools for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to implement infrastructure for tourism projects on July 23 at the House of Unions. The corresponding notice was obtained by "Izvestia." The initiative will be discussed by the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship together with the lower house committee on tourism and the development of tourist infrastructure. "The tourism sector is undoubtedly another growth point that needs to be developed. At the same time, the number of projects is increasing every year," Natalia Poluyanova, a member of the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship, told "Izvestia." For example, in 2023, contracts worth more than 1 trillion rubles were signed, with executed large agreements exceeding 300 trillion rubles, the deputy clarified. More than 60% of public-private partnerships consist of private investments, Poluyanova said. "The roundtable will focus on mechanisms — these are precisely what are needed now to become an actual growth point for PPP agreements... Previously, such regulation did not exist," she noted.
