Business interest in voluntary environmental certification remains: companies that have already received the document confirm the usefulness and safety of new products.
At the same time, Western enterprises that have become Russian are in no hurry to undergo voluntary eco-certification.
Obtaining a voluntary eco-label is an additional burden for businesses that want to further emphasize that their products are truly "organic", "organic" and so on.
Now this is an important criterion for consumers by which products are chosen, and it's not just about food. Young people under 25 years old are trying to buy eco-friendly cosmetics, household chemicals, as well as clothes, shoes and accessories, according to a study by the Center for Sustainable Development of the Skolkovo School of Management.
Most respondents are ready to overpay up to 10% for a product that they regularly buy if it becomes more environmentally friendly. But young people under 25 years old are ready to add up to 30% of its price for an environmentally friendly product. It is easier for the same age category than for older people to switch to an eco-friendly analogue of another brand.
Another study by E+ and Better says that 86% of consumers check out brands' sustainability claims. Companies see a demand for confirmation of environmental statements, and this motivates them to get certified.
