As part of the "Call Back Yourself" project, a webinar was held on April 18, 2024, on the topic "Fraud in the Microfinance Sector: How Not to Become a Victim and Protect Your Funds."
At the webinar, experts from the Department, together with representatives of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow, the Notarial Chamber of Moscow, the Center for Legal Assistance to Citizens in the Digital Environment, as well as the Bank of Russia, explained how fraudsters use citizens' personal data to obtain loans, and how to minimize the risks of personal data being used by fraudsters. They discussed the most common types of fraud in the credit sector, shared examples of how people fell for scams, and how law enforcement agencies detect crimes in the credit sector.
